Black & White Dueling Pianos performing at Brea Fest in Brea, California

Event Overview

Brea Fest is one of those community events where there is a little bit of everything happening at once. Food, art, activities, live entertainment, families, friends, neighbors, and plenty of people exploring the Brea Civic & Cultural Center throughout the evening.

Inside the Curtis Theatre, Black & White Dueling Pianos returned in 2026 for our fifth appearance at Brea Fest, bringing another round of live music, comedy, song requests, sing-alongs, and audience participation to the festival.

Five appearances in, the setting may be familiar, but the show never settles into a routine. Different crowds bring different energy, different requests, and different moments, giving each performance its own personality from the first song to the last.

Dueling Pianos in Brea, California at the Curtis Theatre

Our dueling pianos performance in Brea, California at the City of Brea‘s annual Brea Fest turned the Curtis Theatre into something a little different from a traditional concert.

Song requests are part of that experience from the beginning.

Our entertainers move comfortably through decades of music, jumping between genres, artists, and audience favorites while keeping the pace of the show moving and the room involved.

A classic rock favorite might lead into country. A request from the ’80s might turn into a full-room sing-along. A song somebody hasn’t heard since high school might suddenly become one of the biggest moments of the night.

Dueling pianos in Brea works especially well in a festival setting because the audience helps shape the show.

The audience never has to remain on the sidelines.

They can request songs, sing along, react to what is happening onstage, and become part of the entertainment as the show develops.

A Show That Changes With the Room

Brea Fest attracts a broad mix of guests, and that variety is exactly what makes the format fun.

Some people arrive knowing exactly what they want to hear. Others wander into the Curtis Theatre simply looking for live entertainment and find themselves singing along a few minutes later.

Our entertainers read the room throughout the performance, moving between musical styles and generations while giving guests plenty of opportunities to get involved.

One group may be pushing for Billy Joel.

Someone across the room may be waiting for country.

Another guest may be hoping we finally get around to their favorite ’90s song.

Before long, all of them are part of the same show.

That combination of professional musicianship, comedy, crowd interaction, and audience requests creates an experience that feels personal without ever losing momentum.

Five Years of Dueling Pianos at Brea Fest

Our 2026 performance marked Black & White Dueling Pianos’ fifth appearance at the City of Brea’s annual Brea Fest.

For an annual community event, repeat entertainment has to accomplish two things at the same time: give returning guests something they recognize while still keeping the experience fresh.

Dueling pianos is particularly well suited for that.

The Curtis Theatre may be the same. The pianos may be in the same place. Some guests may even remember seeing us in previous years.

But the personalities in the room, the requests coming toward the stage, the musical moments, and the audience interactions are different every time.

That is what allows the show to return year after year without becoming a repeat of the year before.

And five invitations back to Brea Fest is something we are very proud of.

Three Shows, Three Different Crowds

For the 2026 Brea Fest, Black & White Dueling Pianos performed three 45-minute sets inside the Curtis Theatre.

Each set brought in a slightly different crowd and developed its own character.

Guests came and went throughout the festival, which meant every performance brought new requests, new reactions, and new people ready to join in.

Across the evening, the Curtis Theatre became exactly the kind of room we want to create:

People singing songs they know.

Friends laughing with each other.

Requests making their way toward the stage.

Guests discovering that sitting quietly is definitely optional.

And a theater full of people participating rather than simply watching.

Why Dueling Pianos Works for Community Festivals

Events like the City of Brea’s Brea Fest need entertainment that can connect with a wide range of people.

That is one of the biggest strengths of an interactive dueling pianos show.

Instead of staying within one genre or one generation of music, our entertainers can move from classic rock and country to pop, old-school sing-alongs, newer hits, and plenty of surprises in between.

That musical range makes it possible for grandparents, parents, younger adults, and everyone in between to find something familiar while still being entertained by what comes next.

For city festivals, community celebrations, fairs, corporate events, fundraisers, and other large gatherings, dueling pianos also gives organizers something a traditional concert does not always provide:

a built-in reason for the audience to participate.

Guests are not simply watching musicians perform.

They are singing, requesting songs, laughing, reacting, and helping create the atmosphere in the room.

The Result

After five appearances at Brea Fest, our goal remains the same:

Give people a show they can be part of.

Across three performances in 2026, the Curtis Theatre filled with live music, comedy, sing-alongs, song requests, and the kind of crowd interaction that makes dueling pianos feel less like a concert and more like a shared experience.

For Black & White Dueling Pianos, returning to Brea Fest year after year is exactly what a strong event partnership should look like:

Professional live entertainment that organizers can depend on, with enough variety, personality, and audience participation to make every performance feel fresh.
